Whether you hike a peak or choose our Flat 14ers: Summit 2026 option, CPW welcomes Coloradans of all abilities to get outside, honor our shared history, and celebrate the future we’re building together.

What is the Flat 14ers: Summit Challenge 2026?
Colorado is home to 58 iconic mountain peaks that tower more than 14,000 feet above sea level. Known locally as “14ers” or “fourteeners,” these legendary hikes are a beloved part of Colorado culture.
While summiting a 14er can be an incredible adventure, many of the trails are steep, challenging, and not always suitable for hikers of varying ages, abilities, and experience levels.
That’s why Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Macaroni KID are joining forces to invite our Colorado community to join the fun with a Flat 14ers challenge! Using our free printable chart, you can track the flat distance it would take to complete hiking routes on all 58 famous Colorado peaks... no mountain climbing required. ⛰️✨
“Every mountaintop is within reach if you just keep climbing.” - Barry Finlay
