Join History Colorado and its community partners on Saturday, August 1, 2026, for the Colorado Day Community Fest. Enjoy FREE admission to the festival, to our museums and an opportunity to find connection, culture, and community during Colorado’s 150th birthday.
As Colorado marks 150 years of statehood and the nation recognizes 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, this once-in-a-generation event invites everyone to come together in the state’s capital under the theme “We Are Colorado,” to showcase the incredible diversity and spirit of our state.
From 9:00am to 1:00pm, Denver’s Golden Triangle Creative District will feature music, art, food, and activities that exemplify Colorado's remarkable culture. Start your morning with a FREE community pancake breakfast and enjoy a day of connection and fun, designed for visitors of all ages. Throughout the festival, attendees can experience live musical and cultural performances, browse local vendors at the Artisans and Colorado Proud Markets, explore a lowrider car show, and participate in family-friendly games and activities. If you get hungry again, don’t worry! There will also be food trucks and vendors serving up tasty local foods.

About History Colorado
We are Colorado. Together, our generational work centers communities, deepens knowledge, and catalyzes the transformative power of history.
Established in 1879, History Colorado is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and an agency of the State of Colorado under the Department of Higher Education.
We are committed to serving all Coloradans and offer access to our state’s history through enriching experiences at eleven museums and historic sites, with dynamic and relevant exhibits and activities. We steward about 15 million objects, photographs, and archival resources that make up the State’s collection, and serve tens of thousands of learners of all ages through dynamic programs. We work with school groups and youth through field trips, day camps, and traveling programs across the state of Colorado. We’re home to a free public research center, Colorado’s Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (OAHP), and the Colorado State Historical Fund (SHF), the nation’s largest preservation program of its kind.
We strive to be a place of belonging for all Coloradans and serve as a community connection platform. We’re committed to Colorado’s diverse communities and we know we’re succeeding when more voices, perspectives, and experiences are part of History Colorado.
